Patient Wellness & Connection Day

Open 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM | Drop in throughout the day
Join us for a day of wellness, education, creativity, advocacy, and community designed for previvors, survivors, patients, caregivers, or family members navigating hereditary cancer risk. Come and go as your schedule allows while connecting with advocates, wellness professionals, authors, and fellow community members in a welcoming and supportive environment. Organized by GPCP's Genetics Social Worker Emily Epstein, LMSW and Laura Schneebaum, LMHC-D, LPC, NCC.
What to Expect
  • Throughout the day, participants can take part in:
  • Guided meditation and mindfulness sessions
  • Interactive discussions on physical and emotional well-being
  • Author spotlights featuring stories of survival, resilience, and hope with Gila Pfeffer and Rachel Sobel
  • Small-group wellness roundtables
  • An in-person support circle
  • Opportunities to connect with advocacy organizations and community resources
Featured: Patient Advocacy Spotlight from 12:00-1:00 PM
Join representatives from local and national patient advocacy organizations for a special lunchtime spotlight highlighting the many resources available to individuals and families affected by hereditary cancer risk. Learn about support programs, educational initiatives, research efforts, community networks, and opportunities to get involved in advocacy.

The Wellness & Connection Space will remain active throughout the day with opportunities for reflection, conversation, and creativity, including:
  • Letter-writing and reflection stations
  • Anonymous prompt and response boards
  • Wellness resource station
  • Coffee, tea, and snacks

Love, Danielle Film Screening & Q&A October 15 | 7:30 PM
Following the screening, join lead actress Devin Sidell and executive producer Amy Byer Shainman, both BRCA1 previvors, for a conversation about the film and their experiences.
Living with Hereditary Cancer Risk: Voices of Previvors, Survivors, and Thrivers October 17 | 3:00-4:00 PM
This moderated panel will bring together individuals with lived experience to discuss priorities, needs, challenges, and opportunities for support across the hereditary cancer community.
